Fashion week NYC Malan Breton

Repost thank you to my Friends at Joico.
FASHION WEEK TELL ALL! The runway was on fire when Joico Guest Artist, Vivienne Mackinder, once again created an array of headlining hair looks for designer Malan Breton’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection at New York Fashion Week. It was a flash of inspiration that started when the pair sat down in the designer’s NYC studio, and Vivienne poured over his vision for the show: 1950’s bouffant-meets-Edwardian-meets Jim Morrison. Sound Impossible? It won’t once you see what unfolded…WE WENT TO FASHION WEEK WITH VIVIENNE MACKINDER

THE BOHO BOUFFANT

At first glance, this softly tousled look might seem wildly uncomplicated. But Vivienne took a loose vintage ‘do to new heights. Here’s how:

·      Apply a dollop of Power Whip Whipped Foam to damp hair and dry fully.

·      Back-comb hair from the crown to the occipital bone at the roots for lift, then spray with Power Spray Fast Dry Finishing Spray; set the texture into the teased hair by rolling those strands around a large-barrel curling iron.

·      Twist the remaining hair around the iron to create lazy beach curls, adding Hair Shake for extra texture and separation.

PONY UP!

As a nod to a softer era, these gatherings were full and fanciful and teased with texture. Here’s how:  Apply Power Whip Foam to damp hair and dry fully.

·      Gather hair into a low ponytail and tie with an elastic.

·      Wrap a small section of hair around the base of the pony and tuck it into the elastic to secure.

·      “Dimple” and fluff the bouffant with hair pins to relax the look for a relaxed style.

·      Apply Hair Shake for additional texture and separation.

A-DOOR-ABLE

Long guy looks heralded the vintage cool of Jim Morrison — a throwback to undone ‘dos. Here’s how:

·      Apply a dollop of Power Whip Foam to damp hair, then dry fully with fingers for a “ruffled” texture.

·      Add waves to strands with a curling iron, pulling on the ends to straighten them as you release.

·      Use the blowdryer to thoroughly mess up the look, then liberally spray with Hair Shake for texture and separation.
