FASHION WEEK – Malan Breton Fall Winter 2017/18
Hi there to my Friends at HairDesignerTV and Fellow stylists,
I have just come back from NYC Fashion Week.
The blizzard hit New York hard and strong the day of the Malan Breton Fall Winter 2017/18. fashion show, and I questioned if we would make it to the venue at Madison Sq Gardens? But no blizzard could stop fashion!
A full house, with a packed ‘Photo Pit’, no storm would stop us! Back stage with 50 models, 36 hairdressers, 20 Make up artists, Malan’s support team. In addition photographers jostling for a great shot, it was a packed back stage.
3 hours to bring a wonderful collection to life One word CRAZY.
Its crazy magic and such an honor to work with Malan Breton, he is a genius Designer who continually creates original designs without ever compromising the beauty of the style. The inspiration for the collection 1920’s Silent movie stars. I hope you enjoy clips from the show.
The show featured 3 different looks, fused together in Waves. The challenge for the faux bob, was that most of these models had very long hair, (I will be demonstrating this look on a future video on HDTV). It is an art to create this illusion of a short bob, and create a glorious wave around the face.
I think I did 20 Faux Bobs in 2 hours – I lost count!!!
For this look we did apply Hair Extensions and then Marcel Waved around the temple area.
The longer hair was waved in a lazy wave with straight ends.
Non of above would have been possible with out the Joico Sponsorship and my great support team. I would like to thank each stylist listed below and Joico for such amazing support.
Back stage. We set up 4 assembly lines:- A Setting team, Hair extension team, Mens grooming team, and then Faux Bob team. This show tested us all in the ‘Timeless classics’ :- Dry and Wet Waving Techniques, it was an amazing challenge. Products used to set the hair Joico Power spray, and Joifix medium styling and finishing spray. Joico Hair Shake for texture. The mens grooming was Joico Power Gell.
Special thanks Malan Breton for his amazing collection – To my friend Montgomery Frazier the Image Guru, Rebekah Hope HDTV and Valery Robinett for Joico
