So lets get really clear, each of us is a Leader did you realize this? I know many of you may not own a salon, but I hope you have a great clientele or are building an amazing clientele. Which when we get it right will produce a loyal following, so yes you are the leader and your clients should be following your expert lead.

As we stand behind our chair consulting with our client, they are judging us?
Common client thoughts – Can I trust this stylist? Do they know what they are doing? Do they really understand my needs? Do they have great style? Do they care?
We all communicate but do we really connect?
So every business has one thing in common, all are looking for more customers.
The law of Connection is so important, we need 50% great technical skills and 50% outstanding communication and connecting skills.
One with out the other results in an empty chair.
Do a reality check today on your listening skills. Are you really listening or just waiting to reply?
Have you ever recorded one of your consultations?
Try this have a stylist record a new guest consultation (with their permission)when you play back and review do the following:- 1. 2. 3. STEPS.
I PROMISE THIS INSIGHT WILL BE REVEALING, POTENTIALLY A ‘GAME CHANGER’ . INCREASING YOUR CLIENTELE THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY CONNECTING SKILLS.
1. listen to your video, but do not watch – Are you connecting – engaging – listening- interesting offering great professional advise?
2. Watch your video and switch off the audio – Watch your body language, do you have any annoying habits, i.e. running your fingers through the hair too much (during the consultation) to the point that it would seem you are petting a dog? Open or closed body language? Judging or compassionate? Great eye contact? Happy or stern? Interesting or disconnected? excited or bored?
3. listen and watch your video – Is your consultation “5 Star” are you truly connecting and dipping into the landscape of the client?
PEOPLE DO NOT CARE HOW MUCH YOU KNOW, UNTIL THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE.
Great connection – I think this is a great visual when the pieces of the puzzle fit you make a great picture.
Each salon has its own culture, you must be sure that you can embrace the culture, so that you can show up 100% each and every day.
Do not just take a job because it is there, do not hire because you are desperate, higher for the right fit.
Look around the salon and ask yourself the following: Who within the team could be your mentor and inspiration to your each and every day?

How do you want to be seen by your team and guests/clients?
If you could eves drop on a clients/team members conversation about you, what would you want them to say?
write it down………………………….. GET CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT – AND BE IT TODAY.
The best way to increase confidence is to increase knowledge,
Setting small/realistic goals getting a sense of victory and encouragement from a team member
It nothing else remember these 3 points to increasing connection.
1. Show that you care
2. Show that you can help
3. Show that you can be trusted.
